Leaked documents reveal a high level of arrogance within the Internal Revenue.
Dave Hartnett, Permanent Secretary at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs had already surprised the public by stating on a radio programme that he saw no reason to apologise for the mistakes that left many people owing tax.
But the leaked papers reveal a far more careless attitude.
A high-level official wrote: "What is the matter with all these whinging w*****s? We should squeeze the miserable c***s until their pips squeak.
"Tell 'em all to get f*****d and cough up or we'll have their b******s on a silver salver! Miserable little s***s! Who do they think they f*****g are?"
Another says: "Time to pay? Tell them to shove it. And while we're at it we should charge them interest on what they owe.
"Also, recommend we don't refund overpaid tax until next tax year. Let's party on the interest."
