In a surprising announcement today, television evangelist Pat Robertson announced that he supported the legalization of gay marriage for the citizens of Mexico. On his television program, The 700 Club, Robertson explained his position. "Legalizing gay marriage in Mexico would decrease the number of immigrants that come to the United States illegally. All the homosexual Mexicans will stay in their own country, and hopefully, the homosexuals who are in the United States illegally will go back to Mexico."

Robertson said that the United States should not recognize gay marriages that take place in Mexico. "If two American homosexuals fly off to Mexico to get married, perhaps they should stay in Mexico where their marriage will be recognized. This would certainly be an effective way to decrease the homosexual population in the U.S."

Robertson went on to say, "Calamities always fall upon nations that promote homosexuality. As homosexuals migrate to Mexico, the United States will see fewer natural disasters. If a catastrophic earthquake hits, I'd rather it hit in Mexico than in a Christian country such as the United States."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
