Con artist Bernie Madoff, who has began serving his 150 years in a federal prison in Butner, North Carolina has filed a lawsuit already, claiming his first few meals have ruined his stomach and being in prison instead of being out on bail until his appeal comes through has cost him dearly.
In response, a federal judge has denied hearing the lawsuit.
Judge Howard Meyer told reporters after the ruling that he had checked with the cooks, the menus and also with a prisoner representative and all three say that the meals there, although very basic, are good and have more than enough nutrition is up to the standards that is mandated by law.
Never-the-less, Bernie says that even if the meals are judged to be fine, he is still suing the prison.
"If I were out of here and back to my penthouse..."
"You no longer have that penthouse", responded a reporter.
"As I said, if I were out of this prison during my appeal, WHEREVER I lived I would have made at least two million dollars during the past week by swindling people! Why not allow me to go to work for the federal government and pay off that thirteen trillion dollars in debt that the nation will have soon?"
"In here, my talents are wasted! Compared to me, the President and congress are rank amateurs!"
