Spoof writers the world over today waited with bated breath, hugging computer screens as news leaked out that writer for satirical website TheSpoof.com Abel Rodriguez had submitted a bad story.
A spokesman for the Rodriguez camp denied the allegation, but did admit that the highly rated spoofer had occasionally penned stories which were then retracted as they didn't come up to scratch. By his standards.
A really crap Spoof writer told us:
"This guy is phenomenal. Sometimes we'll write stories when we've had too much to drink or whatever, and they're just messy. You never get that with Abel Rodriguez. His stories are always spot on."
Other Spoofers were inclined to agree.
One told us:
"Abel's a hero here. His stories transcend national boundaries. Even continental boundaries. One day though, he'll have to write a crap one. Which will make me feel better."
More as we get it.
