SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Twit, or tweet? When the cockpit of California Governor Schwarzenegger's plane filled with smoke, members of popular Internest social network YouChirp say they couldn't tell if his urgent warble at the site was some sort of practical joke, or an actual emergency.
Or maybe even something else entirely. YouChirp warbler Twit R. Tweet recalls the garbled message:
"You'd think he writes or types or whatever different from the way he talks, but it's kinda the same. All I got was something about him 'tweeting like a leetle baird up in the error Oh Maria bad smoke rising not vantaastick NOT VANTAASTICK.' It was barely intelligible."
Tweet remembers, "something about the message was just off somehow," so she immediately notified the authorities in case something was wrong. Several of the CIA's top linguistic specialists grappled with the message for two long hours before realizing Schwarzenegger might be in trouble.
They called the Governator to see if everything was alright, interrupting an important meeting he had been in for more than an hour, having long since safely landed.
Scwarzenegger had high praise for the Internest, saying, "Viddout dee Internest, I vouldn't be here to be dare, taremeenated vit limmeetations like Sarah Conair, up dare in d' beeg blaack smoke."
