Cheyenne Wyoming: Governors from several western states convened here to organize the first annual joint sportsmen and environmentalist wolf hunt. Environmentalists from the various major "Earth Mother" organizations have been invited to join the hunt.
This news of a joint hunt followed Secretary of the Interior Salazar's removal of the Gray Wolf from the Federal endangered species list (ESL). Hunting will not be held where state ESL laws are still in affect. The purpose of this endeavor is to demonstrate that no animosity exists between ranchers, sportsmen and environmentalists.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney has been designated the hunt's grand master, based on his experience using a shotgun. The former vice president requested that the environmentalist participants also bring along their organization's lawyers.
