Honoring a promise to his children, United States President Barack Obama today announced the official decision on getting a First Dog for the Whitehouse. After examining several choices, including Snoop Dog, Under Dog, and a friendly mongrel from back in Chicago, the Presidential family has finally settled on a choice: Clifford the dog.
"He's perfect, noted President Obama. "He's neutral gendered, completely housebroken, and his skin is 100% allergen free, which was a very important factor. We'll probably have to install a fence, and hire contractors to build him a doghouse, but the girls are about as excited as you can be to finally know they are getting their own dog."
When one reporter in the crowd pointed out that Clifford is a cartoon dog, Mr. Obama made discreet shushing motions, and moved on to a discussion of his wife's plans for further wardrobe debuts.
