An Illinois Senator selected by the embattled state governor to replace President Elect Barack Obama will be seated by the U.S. Senate. The Senate had originally stated that they would not accept the appointment because of the related scandal and this move was supported by Obama.
The seat, however, will not be inside the Senate Chambers as the new junior Senator from Illinois. Instead, Roland Burris will be seated in the Senate Men's room and will hand out towels, combs, and other supplies to Senators during their "potty breaks."
Burris was okay with the decision. "I am still going to be rubbing shoulders with the great men of Washington D.C.. Their hygeine will be in my hands."
"Besides, in this position, I'll be able to leak to the press which ones don't wash their hands after they go."
