It has been announced today that ex President Bill Clinton has been appointed to the role of Senior Janitor within the White House premises.
The role has been created especially for Clinton as he knows the building intimately and he would have appropriate knowledge on how to maintain the general sanitation of the President's place of work.
It is expected that the occupation will entail such labours as vacuuming the oval office, cleaning toilets, taking care of rubbish disposal and watering indoor plants. Other duties such as replacing blown light fixtures may be called upon as needed.
The President-elect welcomed the return of "Slick Willy" to the White House and believes that Bill Clinton will be a handy man to have around the house.
Barack Obama however denied any suggestion that the appointment is a obfuscation designed to employ Clinton as a quasi adviser to the President. "No, no, he'll just be a kindly old care taker and, by the way, Bill, my garbage disposal unit needs repairing."
It is believed that Clinton has yet to hear of the news as he is visiting Gordon Brown, UK Prime-minister, to help him plan his next Budget.
