Rural U.S. Takes Worst Hit as Gas Tops $4 Average

Funny story written by JASONL

Gas prices are starting to hit rural America the hardest, but the pain is not being felt uniformly. Across broad swaths of the South, Southwest and the upper Great Plains, the combination of low incomes, high gas prices and heavy dependence on pickup trucks and vans is putting an even tighter squeeze on family budgets.

Rev. Pat Robertson told his congregation that high oil prices are becoming a major problem when tithing in his ministries started to decrease. "It was also an indication that their faith in the Lord was not as strong as it should be. You brought it upon yourselves."

A parishioner asked the Reverend, "What would Jesus do?"

"He'd walk, dammit, he'd walk!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
