(Washington DC) The Bush Administration woke to an embarrassing situation Sunday morning--all of the tax refund checks sent out are bouncing. The refunds were for $300.00, $600.00 or $1200.00 and the bouncing is sending shock waves through the economy.
"It's just too embarrassing to talk about," said the red-faced Secretary of the Treasury, Harry Paulson. "Folks, we're broke. And we have been for a few decades. We just have to print more money and send them out again."
"No one can handle the truth about the economy collapsing." said an angry Paul Burnbake. He is Chairman of the Federal Reserve. "I went to Capitol Hill and tried to explain. No one listened. No one can handle reality. I'm just going to continue to print paper money until the damn dollar collapses later this year. I don't give a f&*k anymore."
Harry Paulson was more optimistic. "Let's just pretend nothing is wrong and maybe the whole thing will just go away! I can send everyone $1000.00 bucks. Let's just enjoy ourselves before the coming collapse."
