DULUTH, GA - Fortunately for residents in an Atlanta suburb, a church marquee was witty enough to beckon the entire town inside where the populace promptly solidified their eternal fate.
"Boy I'm glad I passed this sign," said volunteer karaoke entertainer and former atheist John Rockhammer.
"It was so amusing and clever -- I couldn't help but devote my life to Christ."
The sign itself reads: "Life with Christ is Endless Hope: Life without Christ is a Hopeless End."
Mr. Rockhammer wasn't the only one touched by the church's brainy roadside posting. Sarah Bloom of Ft. Lauderdale happened to be visiting family in the Duluth area when she noticed the marvelous marquee.
"I didn't go in, but it really made me think about my life," Sarah said. "Even though I'm not sure what it means exactly, a hopeless end doesn't sound very good -- and I hope my life isn't headed for a hopeless end. Wouldn't you? Anyway, so I'm gonna have to verify that for myself here pretty soon."
