Atlanta, Georgia (IPP) - The Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta has began a study ordered by the Federal government to study disparities and variables in the manner in which people die. The goal of the government is to standardize death and dying so as to even out the playing field.

The first step in five year project is to take a poll among all citizens in order to reveal which is the most preferable way to die.

CDC spokesman Robitussin Jackson told reporters that it is inherently unfair for some people to die lingering painful deaths while others die peacefully in their sleep. He also stated that it is basically unfair and therefore un-American that many poor folks die violent deaths on the street due to crime while others, with more money, never have to experience the horror of being shot as their last experience on earth.

Environmental concerns also will play a role in how the project, which is called the fairness in dying project, will be set up. The longer people live the more impact they will have on the environment says Mr. Jackson.

There are some early proposals already being discussed as to how to make death more fair. One proposal suggests that a lottery system could be put into effect that would randomly draw out individuals who would die a violent street death regardless of their economic and social status. Another proposal would have people euthanized when they reach a certain age.

Mr Jackson also said it is unfair that some people die young and others at a much older age. A reasonable average dying age will be determined by scientific means and the rules will be applied fairly across the board. One exception to this rule would be that folks who can afford to pay a fee to offset their environmental impact from their living to an older age would be allowed to live as long as they can pay an environmental impact fee of $250,000 a year.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
