Jack Kevorkian, the so-called "suicide doctor", was released from prison today, after serving eight years for assisting a Michigan man in ending his own life.
Just minutes after leaving the grounds of the penitentiary, Kevorkian held a press conference. He immediately responded to President Bush's announcement earlier this week that he plans to nominate Kevorkian for the post of U.S. Surgeon General.
"I look forward to becoming Surgeon General", the doctor said. I am just waiting for Mr. Bush to call and make it official."
Political analysts were in almost complete unanimity that a Kevorkian nomination is tantamount to political suicide.
