Juneau, Alaska - (Ass Mess): Just last week on 17 May Juneau Mayor Bruce M Botel-Ho told the press that fast-moving events centered around the Corrupt Bastards Club had left him reeling from shock.
As reported on the satirical website The Spoof! Botel-Ho said he was just about prepared for the worst but didn't really know what to expect:
"Whatever next for Juneau?" he said to reporters. "Hmm, let's see. An earthquake would be pretty bad but not entirely out of sync."
On Monday this week Botle-Ho's dreaded premonition came true as a 4.4 tremor struck the area around Haines and Juneau plus Whitehorse, Yukon.
According to reports from the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer the tremor was recorded at 1:05 a.m. just north of Glacier Bay.
Its effects were felt 45 miles away in Haines and 100 miles northwest of Juneau.
"I'm barricading myself in behind my desk at work, expectin' the damned worst!" was all that the Mayor could say when asked about whether he had any other premonitions for the area.
