Possible 2024 presidential candidate Ron DeSantis lectured the “legacy media” today. Flanked by his talented press secretary, Christina Pushaw, the Florida governor blasted “mainstream reporters for telling the truth.”
DeSantis erupted after the Washington Post reported the truth about Christina Pushaw, who earned a Master's degree in International Relations from elite Johns Hopkins University. She also spent time overseas working in the former Soviet republic of Georgia, not to be confused with the REAL Georgia (the one adjacent to Florida) where elections are stolen left and right. And speaking of the REAL Georgia, did you notice how similar her name is to that great Southern word, “P’shaw” used when someone is being dismissive?
However, while in Georgia, that other Georgia, the one that is a foreign country, Pushaw got money for work she performed for Mikheil Saakashvili, the former Georgian president. But she did that work without registering as a foreign agent in the United States. Uh oh. This oversight became public yesterday. The U.S. Department of Justice notified her that she probably should have registered. So, Pushaw said she registered retroactively. Additionally, anonymous sources inside the IRS state that she may be forgiven if she did not pay taxes on those “earnings.”
Meanwhile, her boss, DeSantis, is apparently heading to an overwhelming re-election this fall. Therefore, he can afford to turn his gaze nationally. And playing to a national crowd means attacking journalists.
Said one observer, “The Florida governor can call reporters liars. He can condemn them for telling the truth. It doesn’t matter. The lust for blood is all that counts with his voters.”
In his own way, DeSantis seemed to confirm this analysis. He said, “We don’t need truth-tellers anymore. We’ve got Fox News, One America News Network and Newsmax. What’s more, intelligent, talented Christina is a wiz with social media. We’re gonna fight, fight, fight.”
