(Washington) – The Internal Revenue Service Gift Shop has reported that it is completely sold out. All IRS merchandise has been bought by fans of the agency. The shelves are empty of T-shirts, license plate holders, keychains and earrings.
Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin expressed mild surprise at the run on IRS goods. “I always knew that the IRS Christmas ornaments and lapel pins were popular. But we are even out of the IRS fleece, ballcaps, throw pillows, 24K Gold heirloom eggs, bomber jackets, salt-water taffy, turquoise bracelets, slippers, do-rags, brass knuckles, shower caps, compact mirrors, belt buckles, eyeglass repair kits, whoopee cushions, humidors, elephant-shaped ottomans, beef jerky, bird baths, battery-powered toy fire engines, Little Richard garden statues, jewelry chests, luggage, obstacle courses for dogs, fake mustaches, coin purses, lawnmowers, rigged dice and pencils.”
A shipment of IRS-branded bottle-openers is expected any day now.
