Queen for More than a Day

For the first time, the Speaker of the House is a woman; and women all over America are taking note and following her example.

As women declare themselves heads of their own households, men are scratching their heads and wondering how it all came about. Many men are running for cover; some are even heading for Canada or Mexico, heralding these as locations where "A man can still be a man."

Even Fearless Fred, who had always prided himself on his support for feminists, became unhinged when he discovered his wife Flora had bought herself a gavel to enforce the 'house rules.' Quivering in his boots, Fred says he can't help but remember what Lord Acton wrote in 1887, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
