Washington - The Senate confirmation hearings for Bret Kavanaugh, the Trump administration's nominee to fill the vacant seat on the U.S. Supreme Court, has been tabled until after the mid-term elections in early November, as a majority of Senators will still be attending memorial services for John McCain until late September.
"There simply won't be enough time to complete the weeks-long process of confirmation, there is still a majority of our members attending the memorials for John McCain, including all Democrat Senators and four Republicans", stated Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
"I will deliver another eulogy for my friend John next Tuesday", said Senator Lindsey Graham, as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer nodded in approval at a gathering in the Senate chambers after today's services. "We have arranged flights for several dignitaries from around the world to come to Washington next week for the memorial events", added Schumer.
