Atlanta, GA: The Center for Disease Control issued an alarming report that states a child's risk for developing serious psychiatric disorders in adulthood increased by 62% if they excessively "whispered".
Lawrence Lipschitz M.D. said parents shouldn't be alarmed if they have noticed their child whispering as the findings only apply to those who fall under the category of "chronic and heavy" whispering as means of communication. Those who are moderate whisperers aren't in the clear though.
Dr. Lipschitz stated that the studies found moderate whispering would only lead to a life of mild to moderate depression and a low libido. Heavy whispering however could lead to a risk of schizophrenia, psychotic bi-polar depression, and a tendency to drift into all manner of sexual deviancy.
Not all whispers are bad, says Dr. Lipschitz. Only whispers where the nose and mouth are in close proximity to the ear. Our findings show that the ear emits a barley discernable toxic gas that causes damage to the developing brain. We all have this newly discovered gas emitting from our ears and it's harmless as long as the room is well ventilated, and the whispering child is 7" from the ear canal or 50" in the case of an ear infection.
