In a scene reminiscent of Disney's film Up, a Canadian man was yesterday spotted flying over Calgary sitting in a garden chair supported by multi-coloured helium party balloons. In fact it was so reminiscent of Up that once he parachuted to safety he was immediately arrested and charged with various copyright infringements.

Calgary Police Department stated that they had initially been concerned for the man's safety, but they were happy once they knew he had successfully made it to Paradise Falls and had taken up with a bird called Kevin. However, they say that although they were glad everything worked out for the best in the movie, they have had to make an arrest in the copycat balloon case.

In other balloon-related news, Doctors want to ban the "frivolous" use of helium in party balloons in case there is a shortage of the gas for use by medical staff. They say using helium in balloons is a "colossal waste" of the rare element, and that it should be kept for doing squeaky voices at hospital social club events.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
