Lincoln, Nebraska- A woman frantically rang a local poison information line after her 7 year old daughter ate some black carpenter ants in the back yard.
The operator assured her that the ants were harmless but advised against the child eating anymore as they have been known to bite.
"Well, just to be sure, I made her eat half a bottle of ant killer in case they were going to do her harm," advised the mother.
The child was rushed to a local hospital where her stomach was pumped. She is now in a stable condition. Family services has been bought in to determine whether the mother's stupidity poses any further risk to the child.
