After a late night party with some friends actress Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) came home, got her flashlight from her car as she saw that her light was out by the door and the streetlight didn't show enough light for her to unlock her door.
She was awakened this morning by two police officers at about 9AM and told that there was a dead man on her porch.
She later told reporters that she couldn't get her brain around that fact.
"A DEAD man?" I know I looked half asleep but I hadn't had any coffee or coke or anything. I told them to come in and they did.
"But after the coffee for all three of us, they asked me if I would care to look at the man as the coroner was busy and hadn't arrived but there were several people there."
"I had no idea who he was. They let me tell my story there even though I had none."
Dobrev said she came in very late...2-3AM and my light was out so I came up to unlock my door and never saw the guy if he was lying there then.
"So I gave them my friend's name and numbers and they left. A guy in plain clothes came back later and told me that they had found a dog and from info in a chip on the dog, identified the man. He was from here in Atlanta and must have been walking his dog when he sat down on my porch and had a heart attack."
"Whew! It's fun doing movies about dead people but not real life. Poor guy. His wife was visiting her mother in Augusta so I guess the dog will be OK."
"I'm still spooked now, realizing he was probably lying out there all night. I'm getting extra lighting put in. But I don't look over there when I get home."
