NORFOLK, Virginia - Well the animal rights people are up in arms again and this time it is all about Niagara Falls.
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have stated that they have just had an independent research study firm complete an investigation into the famous International waterfall.
Executive Director Mimosa Ledbetter stated the study clearly showed that the tremendous power of the falls is injuring literally thousands of fish on a daily basis.
Ms. Ledbetter stressed that some of the fish are on the endangered species list and include the Toronto Blow Swallower, the Adirondack Picklefish, the Fuchsia Tongued Sturgeon, and the Bow Wow Dogfish.
Activists are asking that the governments of the United States and Canada see about securing national monetary grants in order to have Niagara Falls fixed where the falls will be reduced from a drop of 167 feet to an acceptable drop of 2 feet.
