Tuesday, June 18, 2013 - House Republicans today announced their intention to fully support the Freedom From Wages Act.
"This is a very important piece of legislation," said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va), "and one that will finally free American workers from the yoke of compensation for jobs well done."
Conceived and written by the think tank of the American Legislative Exchange Counsel (ALEC) and heartily approved by ALEC's major contributors, Charles and David Koch, the Freedom From Wages Act assures that no American need ever again worry about receiving a paycheck.
"This bill totally eliminates the need for employee compensation," said Cantor, "and what better way is there to celebrate the American workforce than by ending their worries regarding inadequate wages?"
Cantor added that the bill has the full support of all House and Senate Republicans, many Democrats, and is vigorously backed by Walmart, the largest US employer.
"This is a win-win situation for everyone," said Cantor, "and we mean to see it through."
