NORFOLK, Virginia - There are an awful lot of unhappy folks at the organization known as PETA, which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The group's Executive Director Mimosa Ledbetter sent an email to the Iranian Assistant Defense Minister Asadmeer Kazreeza, due to the fact that Iran launched a monkey into outer space.

USA Daybreak reported that the monkey named Mickey the Monkey, appeared to be quite confused, scared, and traumatized.

Reports are that Mickey's space suit and helmet were one size to small and Mickey could be seen making faces.

Kazreeza was asked why they could not have sent up some other type of animal such as a wolverine, a possum, or even a rattlesnake.

He replied that the Iranian Space Exploration Manual of Rules and Guidelines stresses that only Monkeys will be sent up in space ships.

He pointed out to the International media that Mickey did not feel scared, worried, or upset in any way.

He then disclosed that as the space ship sat on the launch pad, little Mickey could actually be heard happily humming the song "Last Train To Clarksville" by the Monkees.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
