St. Louis, MO - Today, the St. Louis Community College's Registration Office had quite the visitor from the campaign trail. No, not either of the candidates for President, but Senatorial candidate, Todd Akin. Akin was quick to point out that he was not there on a campaign visit, but rather an educational one.
"After the great big hullabaloo regarding what I said about rape, legitimate or not, I thought I should do something about it. I am here today in the great halls of the St. Louis Community College to enroll in BIO 101, a course I have never before taken. I would like to learn about a woman's body, and hopefully learn something about this mythical female body part I have heard of in myths."
When pushed by reporters about what body part Akin was referring to he replied "the vagina."
Akin's Biology class meets at 10am twice a week, which will put a damper on his campaigning.
"That is inconsequential" Akin said when this was pointed out to him "the greatest gift I can give myself is that of an education, and if it costs me some campaign time, so be it!"
Truly a breath of fresh air from Missouri today.
