Hog Jaw AR: MSNBC News correspondent Pat Buchanan's employment with the network was terminated while he was on assignment in Arkansas. Pat was interviewing 102 year old Rufus Sharpton about the 2012 presidential candidates.
Rufus was born here in 1910 and voted in his first election in 1932 for Republican President Herbert Hoover against that Democratic Franklin Roosevelt fellow. Rufus is a life-long Republican who voted for Richard Nixon twice. Rufus stopped voting in presidential elections after Arkansas native Democratic President Clinton left office in 2000, as politics lost its sexiness.
Rufus expounded on the current slate of presidential contenders, as he still reads the conservative Hog Jaw Gazette once a week. Democratic President Obama running for reelection believes he is Jesus reincarnated. The Republican challengers; former US House Speaker Gingrich thinks he is God, former Pennsylvania Senator Santorum believes he is the Pope, former Massachusetts Governor Romney has been labeled as not being a real Christian and Texas Congressman Paul is a devout Libertarian.
Rufus added, after being prodded by Pat, that one of these days a Hebrew might even run for vice president!
