Details are leaking through that the south coast seaside town of Bognor Regis has been lashed by a small tornado. A sort of mini-tornado, according to accounts, and although there was some damage to property, it appears that the damage was limited, and not really all that serious.
So far there are no reports of any injuries or fatalities, although one elderly gentleman was said to be "a bit shaken up."
For some obscure reason, the area around Bognor and Hayling Island, including Selsey Bill, seem to be prone to suffering these mini-tornado like events, which don't usually remotely approach being sensational.
However, in one notorious tornado event, top television astronomer, and local English eccentric, Patrick Moore, once almost had the roof torn off his garden shed.
At the time, Mr Moore referred to it as his observatory, but it wasn't really an observatory.
It was just a shed.
More as we get it.
