Members of UK Uncut took direct action today against Banks held responsible for creating the economic disaster that has led to austerity measures, including the planned privatisation of the Health Service.
A Banker, who did not want to be named, commented that 'everyone should know by now that it was Gordon Brown who caused the deficit. Our Government is now trying to clear up the mess! If people haven't learnt this by now they must have failed to read newspapers or watch television for the last year.'
Others feel the Banks might have played their part in causing the economic disaster but they contend that it was lack of regulation by the former Government that was to blame. 'They let Banks do all these stupid things. It is the Government's responsibility if Bank's misbehave.'
'What we need is less red tape' explained one political commentator 'it should be blue tape. Regulation has to be reasonable and in line with criteria developed by the Bank of England.'
A UK Uncut protestor commented that the economic disaster was 'all the Bank's fault' and claimed emergency Hospital wards were closing when it should be Bankers who were being rewarded for causing the breakdown.
