The Welsh Conservatives have pledged to ring fence any savings made from the NHS budget.
Nick Bourne, leader of the Conservatives in Wales, made this surprising but firm commitment in a Radio Wales Phone-In on Thursday.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that no NHS savings will be ring fenced for health services, but rather will be assigned to pet Tory projects such as creating more capital gains tax loopholes for the rich and making universities as exclusive as possible.
While the pledge to freeze the tolls on the Severn Bridge would be kept by a Tory assembly, Bourne added that they would only be frozen in the winter, and everything always is anyway.
