image for Commuters Will Soon Be Able To Use Mobile Phones On Tube

Boris Johnson is hoping to be able to revamp the capital's mobile phone network before the London Olympics in 2012.

A generous Chinese phone technology giant has offered to install new receivers into the London Underground System so that for the first time the commuters will be able to make and receive phone calls on their mobiles.

He has been staggered by the generosity of his Chinese friends who have so kindly offered as a friendly gesture to fund this scheme.

The charming Chinese entrepreneurs are hoping to be able to refurbish London's ailing mobile phone network. They said that it was 'unthinkable' that the Chinese athletes could be travelling and not been able to access their text messages or make and receive phone calls. One diplomat commented in China we are used to be using modern technology 24/7. In London it is like a third-world country with terrible or non-existent cell phone reception".

This news about revamping the London Underground's mobile phone signals has been welcomed by the nation's workers who commute on a daily basis.

"At last a ray of sunshine in a very grey day" said one happy commuter who was looking forward to using his mobile phone to stay in touch with his girlfriend."

Boris Johnson has enjoyed renewed popularity after his announcement of this free new project which will be a gift from China to our country when the Olympics take place. "At last good news" said one lady with a smile. An impromptu flash mob took place in Waterloo station with commuters taking off their raincoats and dancing with their bowler hats and canes, and singing "Boris is putting on the style".

However Cameron was worried that the mobile phone network in the London Underground could make the tube vulnerable to a terrorist attack.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
