The film Liar Liar has inspired a generation of lawyers to spend one day a year telling nothing but the truth. In order to make sure that the British public do not get wind of this special day, and keep judges on their toes, the day changes each year.
The original Truth Day was on the anniversary of the release of the film, on the Second of May 1998, however, from this day onward it has been held on a different day each year, passed around secretly through the personal ads in the Independant. The Spoof employed a top cryptographer and has finally broken the code, and can reveal when 2011's Truth Day will be.
"The 2011 Truth Day will be on March the third," said the UK's top code breaker, Nehpets Gnikwah, who uses an unbreakable code to maintain his secret identity. "Last year it was June sixteenth."
On March third all lawyers will speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but the public are urged not to take advantage of lawyers on this special day.
"We were hoping the public would never find out," said Sir Randolph Harmony-Smythe of the Lawyers for Lawyers group. "Now that this information has been leaked, we hope that the public will not start asking exactly how much our services cost, or if the defendant is guilty. There are very few films that portray lawyers in a positive light, and we'd like to continue to celebrate this one."
