There were global celebrations today as it appeared mysterious Bolivian ex-dicator, Colonel Juan, had emerged from hiding to review the popular BBC quiz show, University Challenge for satirical news site, TheSpoof.
As we reported yesterday, BBC and university authorities around the UK have been bewildered by the Colonel's failure to review the show for several weeks.
But our man on the spot, Ellis Ian Fields, reported this afternoon (Tuesday): "I've just been doing me duty, casting the eye over a few stories submitted in what we call the Story Approval Centre (or SAC) and there was a review of University Challenge!
"I tell you, I had to confine my joy because I was taking time out at work to do this. And while I can't categorically confirm it was the Colonel's work - work submitted for approval is anonymous - it certainly had his stamp all over it."
After Fields's revelations reports soon began to flood in that bomber squadrons around the world were being stood down and that the US military was reducing it's alert status from DefCon 4 to 3.
