Gordon Brown, probably the most disastrous Chancellor, then Prime Minister, Britain has ever known, has announced that he is following tradition in retirement.
Like Tony Blair before him, he is buggering off abroad leaving chaos behind him. The tradition was started by Shirley Williams who did much to destroy the British education system, and then buggered off to America. Unbalanced Brown is also going to the US.
Harvard University, where apparently he thinks he is going, thought they were getting Jeffrey R. Brown who recently published a paper 'The Effect of Inheritance Receipt on Retirement Decisions'.
However the error may prove a blessing in disguise. The minders responsible for his rehabilitation have enrolled him for several courses at Harvard. These include Why are so Many Countries Poor, Volatile and Unequal?, and the International Capital Markets class, where students learn what goes wrong when international investors get worried you are going bust, They are trying to steer him clear of the course Decision-making in Recent Crises as it is thought it might exacerbate his breakdown.
Brown is thought very unlikely to have the guts to be in the House of Commons on 20th October when it will debate the spending review necessitated by the chaos he caused. It is thought he will cite his classes at Harvard as an excuse, I anyone bothers to ask.
