The Island's own radio station, Wight FM, stunned listeners yesterday when disc jockey (DJ) Laffs Mangrove played a record for a local woman.
Said the DJ: "It was a bit odd really. There was some post waiting for me when I got to work in the morning.
"So I opened it while I was preparing for my lunchtime slot. One was a letter from Kath Proper in Cowes. She said could I play a song for her boyfriend's birthday… so I thought 'fair enough, OK. Why not?'"
But there was just one problem, according to Laffs: "Kath said her boyf's favourite song was Too Drunk To F**k by the Dead Kennedys. Well I didn't have it with me, so I played Yesterday by the Beatles in stead."
