Grounded for for 'uttering obsenities to Catholic friend'.

For the first time in the history of The Isle of Wight, a teenager has been 'grounded'.

It sounds like a scene from an American movie.

A mother, Gwenny Limbert, has found the strength to 'ground' her daughter, Ann, for a week.

When interviewed for the IOW News Gwenny admitted that she was feeling a little bit over-awed after watching a recent episode of the American show 'Dr PHIL'. She felt that she had to do something towards aiding her unruly daughter become a better citizen.

When asked what her daughter, Ann, had done to warrant a week's 'grounding' (which means she cannot leave the house for seven days), Gwenny said:

"Well, she embarassed me in front of the neighbours. Her and her 'so called, Best Friend', got into a bit of an argument and Ann shouted to her friend, in frustration I do believe, but that's no excuse in itself...she chanted,

"Dirty Catholics never get a wash. When they do, they think they're posh!"

'Well, me being a Catholic, I was besides meself. I just grabbed her by the collar of her blouse and dragged her indoors. I've never been so embarassed in my life.

I saw the 'grounding' thing on our telly, so thought I'd try it.

Well, you just have to try the 'tough love' thing don't you?

I don't want Ann turning into one of those Spoof Writers.'

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
