A plague of hyperactive Bees almost ruined the first match in the World Cup between hosts South Africa and Mexico.
The Bees, thought to be protesting against their anticipated annhilation throughout the world used the match to make their point, causing major damage to eardrums throughout the world.
'It serves you right' declared the President of the World Bee Fellowship ' you cant expect to see bees wiped from the face of the earth without a major protest.'
Clearly seeing a major opportunity to make their case known the Bees threatened to disturb other World Cup games, especially ones involving South Africa, to get maximum impact in that country.
England players, already reeling from the threat by Barrack Obama to make the game between England and the USA 0-0 in protest at the BP oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico (a threat now withdrawn because Obama's daughters insisted that their father should listen to David Beckham's appeal), feel the Bee protest is a step too far. 'We were getting quite a buzz from the atmosphere in South Africa' said England star Mickey Rooney 'but now we have heard enough buzzing to last a lifetime'
Throughout the world mute buttons were pressed to avoid the Bee auditory onslaught. Many relied on the half time and full time summaries to find out about the drawn match.
