The 2010 World Cup finally got going last night and, after South Africa and Mexico fought out an invigorating 1-1 draw, France and Uruguay played out a particularly unimpressive 0-0 draw, with the French team looking especially disappointing.
France, who were knocked out of the previous World Cup in Japan without actually scoring a goal, lost to China in their final warm-up game, and rarely threatened the Uruguayan goal. Mind you, they shouldn't have been at the tournament at all, should they, after that disgraceful Thierry Henry handball incident against the Republic of Ireland?
Fucking cheat!
The Barcelona scoundrel finally came on as substitute with 20 minutes to go. He almost produced a moment of late drama with a header that glanced across the face of goal, and had an appeal for a handball against Mauricio Victorino turned down as Uruguay held on.
Again, not really surprising, is it?
Cheating bastard!
France play Mexico next, and then hosts South Africa, both of whom will hopefully give the Frogs a pounding, and send them home early where they belong.
