What lies in the shadow of the statue?

Following further detailed investigations and snooping, Phoenix Joe can reveal that Birdy's obsession with the TV series Lost went deeper than most people imagined.

Original theories suggested that Bird's disenchantment with the controversial ending had been the spark that ignited the flames of his fury and lead to him cutting down many fine upstanding citizens.

Some have suggested that there is more than a passing similarity between Bird and the Lost character John Locke (in a certain light and if you squint). As the Smoke Monster finally assumed the physical appearance of Locke - it is not hard to conclude that Bird would have felt a growing affinity with the Smoke Monster.

If one looks closely at the back story of both Bird and Locke - an eerie similarity begins to emergeā€¦. Both had big family issues, both were subjected to broken romances and both lived petty mundane lives in petty mundane backwater towns.

Those of you who are familiar with the Lost story will know that the Smoke Monster spent most of its time rushing around the jungle on the island apprehending individual people and 'judging' them. Any found wanting during the judgment was subjected to instant and fatal death. The fact that Locke / Smoke Monster were finally killed needs little explanation.

Could it be that Bird emulated the Smoke Monster and that the people who were "looked at like a hawk" passed the test - and the others had some 'hidden issues' they needed to work on?

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
