Gloucestershire - Chaos broke out today in Gloucestershire when the 2010 Cheese Rolling Contest got out of control. A crowd of 15.000 watched in horror as the cheeses began to mow down the competitors.
The event had been originally cancelled on Health and Safety grounds, but the local committee decided to hold it anyway. At least 40 people were injured when a truckle of Cheddar Cheese bounced off a tree and in to the pursuing pack. A truckle of Lancashire normally a crumbly cheese clobbered a crowd who had gathered at the foot of the hill sending bodies everywhere.
A fleet of ambulances took the injured to hospital in Gloucester. A spokesperson for the event said, It was a good job we never had the hard Cheddar the causalities would have been higher.
