In a rare show of unanimity, all the political parties, including BNP and UKIP, agreed to scrap the Human Rights Act.
A Labour party spokeswoman said, "we have cross-party support for this. Scrapping the Human Rights Act is extremely popular in the country and we are delighted, for once, to be doing what the country wants."
When asked whether she believed the electorate knew what the HRA was for and what would happen next, the spokeswoman continued, "of course not! We don't want an intelligent electorate! We have successfully planted stories in the newspapers of extreme cases where the HRA have helped the occasional prisoner, which the media have lapped up."
"As a result, the average punter incorrectly believes that the HRA is only there for prisoners and terrorists."
"We are delighted that they support the scrapping of the HRA, as this means more power for us MP's at Westminster to do whatever we like without those pesky Human Rights Lawyers being able to stop us."
"We can now bring back indefinite detention without access to legal representation, capital punishment, secret courts and torture to obtain evidence."
"We can ban freedom of speech, peaceful protests and we can randomly confiscate people's property without any reason or compensation."
"As a dictatorial government, we are delighted people are so ignorant and so willing to give up all their rights to be protected from our power and control over their lives. We look forward to scrapping elections and exploiting the situation as soon as possible."
"By the way, this will be the last interview we give to you as you are being sent to South Georgia for unlimited detention and hard work until you agree that Human Rights are a bad idea."
As Marx said, "the path to true communism is through democracy"
