Bubbles the size of footballs were seen floating past the London Bridge by people on their way to work this morning. The aroma of Lilac filled the air.
A Lorry carrying a full load of Royal Bubbly Brand bubble bath careened off the Marlow Bridge, Buckinghamshire late last night. This morning bubbles were everywhere along the Thames.
The driver, Barry Whitwam, who was distracted by scantily clad young woman, lost control of the lorry and smashed through the railing. Whitwam survived the crash. He had another 15 minutes of fame as a member of the Herman's Hermits.
The problem for the Thames is that bubble bath really is made from household detergents that cause skin irritation and urinary tract infections. The river may seem cleaner and nice smelling but it is more polluted due to human carelessness.
