In a daring attempt to entice the Rambling Loonies into a formal education program, the University of Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland has released details of their degree course leading to the award of BA in Subo culture.
The course has been inspired by the Spanish intellectual Rambling Loonie of Andulusia and is being fully supported by Subo, the well known local chanteuse and philanthropist.
The course is aimed at informing and educating a 50,000 strong, identifiable group in all things Scottish, with particular emphasis on language, dialect, roots of comedy and their application in a Scottish setting and the specialised subject of Subo culture. Entry to the Subo culture final year is dependent on students demonstrating an extensive and broad depth of knowledge in Scottish life and language.
The university is pleased to have enticed Professor Patula de Fairt, an expert in Scottish local and regional speech patterns and use, to lead the course. Professor de Fairt noted that many potential students will find the course both challenging and informative. She emphasised that much has to be added to their current knowledge about Scotland as the potential students appear to have a limited and sometimes confused grasp of the land of Subo.
Professor de Fairt particularly welcomes to her team of lecturers RKA Barker, the weel kent expert in Rambling Loonie languages and the inspirational head of Scottish cultural Duende, Sir R Ockey.
