In what seems to have been a fit of pique, a farmer in Devon has cut a message into his own crops after a freak wind blew his favourite sun hat away. The single word, Googe, is thought to be a slang word for rough sex, and why he thought this was a suitable response to the loss of his hat is at present unknown.
However, it didn't take long for a quick-draw artist at Internet search engine company Google to reproduce the event for one of their logo doodles. Google have released a statement saying that they liked the story and could see how it leant itself to their logo, what with Googe and Google being so similar. The temporary logo has been displayed on their website in the UK on 15th September.
Google are now trying to contact the farmer to present him with a special Google 'Googe' sun hat to replace the one he lost.
