A council has taken Spotted Dick off the menu at its staff canteen because of comments from sniggering diners.
Cockshare County Council's dining room now serves Speckled Trouser Trout instead. It reportedly banned 'Spotted Dick' because of the name being offensive to some and erotic to others.
"More than once we have been asked if Spotted You-Know is an aphrodisiac", stated one waiter.
However, to most it is political correctness gone mad, as it has in the rest of the Western World.
Cockshare County councillor Claus Herbert-Prong was officially told Friday.
'I couldn't believe it, it seemed ludicrous. Spotted Dick is part of our heritage,' he said. "What next?"
He shouldn't have asked.
Among other proposals: Toad In The Hole may become Toad's Wild Ride, Wet Nelly to Soaked Buns, Singing Hinnies to Holy Hotcakes and Inky Pinky to Beef Swellington.
But when they came to 'Bubble & Squeak', the Councillor placed his fingers into his ears and ran out the door.
