The BBC has cancelled its new primetime cop show Csi Liverpool after just one episode. The show is based on the popular format of the American Csi television shows which follow the adventures of crime scene investigators, but the Liverpool show put a completely different spin on proceedings by ditching the high-quality visuals and beautiful people in favour of skanky Scousers in tracksuits.
Catchphrases such as "Awlrighhhhttttt, Pal!" and police with names like Kevin and Jordan just never caught the public's imagination.
Even celebrity guest stars such as Keri Katona and footballer Ian Rush never piqued the audience's interest.
"The basic idea was shit to begin with", said one television critic, "people want to see exotic locations and sexy ladies in bikini's solving crimes - not some fat bastard with curly hair eating a bag of chips and driving a Vauxhall Astra around the estates looking for someone's stolen knickers".
