Soccer giants Liverpool FC are facing financial ruin following the failure of the club's owners to service high levels of debt.
American pair, Hicks and Gillet, who haven't enjoyed the best of business relationships are reportedly dragging the club ever deeper into a financial mire.
The situation has been further complicated by the duo's refusal to sell the club as a going concern, and insisting that they hang on to a 50% holding.
In an effort to alleviate the club's financial difficulties, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher opened a used car dealership in Huyton, and Fernando Torres was selling the Big Issue outside Lime Street station.
"We've all got to pull together," Gerrard told us. "Or we'll end up like Newcastle and Leeds."
Rafa Benitez blamed Sir Alex Ferguson for the financial catastrophe, saying:
"He is big bastard. He mess up our club."
More as we get it.
