London - (ToldYouSo! Mess): A new post-mortem examination has overturned a 'natural' causes heart attack diagnosis of G20 protest newspaper vendor Ian Tomlinson's death and said the innocent bystander died of 'abominable bleeding'.
An initial Conorner's Inquest found that a standard issue police baton found embedded in Tomlinson's belly 'was purely circumstantial' and unlikely to have contributed to the heart attack theory of his death.
But canny consultant forensic pathologist Dr Nat Cary who diagnosed the abominable bleeding said the 15 inch truncheon didn't fool him.
"At least the Met's own lawyers aren't claiming Tomlinson had 'accidentally swallowed it', or some such tripe," a source close to Cary commented today.
At least not yet.
