The wife of legendary football manager Brian Clough, has hit out at a film of his life, based on a book that she claims is "complete garbage"
The film 'The Damned United' appears to make the controversial claim that Clough, whose nickname was "Gob of the North" was actually Carry On Star Kenneth Williams.
"It's absolute rubbish" she declared. "This film completely re-writes history. I think I would have suspected something if I was married to that strange little mincer." She added that in 30 years of marriage, she'd never heard him say "Matron", "Stop Messing About" or "Keep yer 'ands off me Cobblers" once.
A spokesman for the film's production company apologised unreservedly for Mrs Clough's distress. "It's all been a terrible mistake. There is and has never been any suggestion that Mr Clough was in fact Carry On Star, Kenneth Williams. It's just that he's the only famous person Michael Sheen can do."
He wouldn't comment on claims that David Frost is also "livid" and likely to sue after Sheen made him look like a chutney ferret in Frost/Nixon.
